The step marked with the words "One Mile High" had to be moved in 2002 because the official elevation from the USGS was changed everywhere in Colorado. This includes pikes peak which is now officially 14,115 feet not the 14,110 they were before.
  • Coors Field, sdoorex wrote 17 years ago:
The purple row of seats represents the 5280 foot line. This entire row had to be moved when the USGS re-evaluated the elevations in CO in 2002.

This cemetary has the Ivy Chapel, a cute little gothic chapel that could use a new carpet. It has a pipe organ and at least one piano, but I didn't get a chance to play either one. I know it sounds a little morbid to admit this, but the birding is great at this cemetary.

I really must agree with your respectfully charming description of East Wash Park. Indeed, we have co-hosted numerous block parties, and always keep our lawn "nice." Why, we even drive over to the upscale shopping of Cherry Creek. Though it is near enough to walk, we stopped walking after our dear neighbor was struck by a car trying to cross University and was nearly paralyzed. She was in rehab for over a year, and never regained her youthful vitality. We couldn't agree more about how well Wash Park wears it's seasonal coats, though it is a shame that so many dog owners treat the great lawn as a giant litterbox. The East Wash Park neighborhood is also hunting ground for packs of red fox, who harvest house cats nightly in all four seasons.
